10 best and worst dressed celebs at Cannes '16
Aishwarya's purple lips weren't the only fashion offense this year
France's most sought after invitation-only event, the Cannes Film Festival, is the perfect opportunity for celebrities to showcase their art to the world -- be it through their films or their wardrobe.
Some celebs graced the red carpet in gorgeous attire, while others failed miserably. From sparkles and ruffles to old Hollywood glamour, stars tried their hand at just about everything. We've rounded up the winners at the red carpet as well as the losers (who unquestionably need a dash of Anna Wintour in their lives).
Let's take a look at the best dressed celebs.
1. Blake Lively
If there's one celeb who can never go wrong on the red carpet, it is the triumphant Blake Lively. The Gossip Girl star wore a beautiful sequins and cutout Atelier Versace crsytal mesh gown which was entirely beaded with Swarovski crystals at the opening night gala. She looks ethereal with her loose locks and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
2. Julia Roberts
The Pretty Woman walked the red carpet barefoot to take a stand against organisers who previously haven't allowed women to enter film screenings unless they were in heels. The Hollywood beauty donned a classic black Armani Privé gown paired with a Red Carpet Collection necklace by Chopard. Needless to say, she never seems to age!
3. Amal Clooney
Effortless and fresh, Amal Clooney looks like a million bucks in this yellow, silk chiffon, shoulder-bearing gown by Atelier Versace. The style guru accessorised with Cartier Etourdissant earrings and Jimmy Choo Sandals -- and George Clooney.

4. Chanel Iman
Victoria Secret model Chanel Iman joined the thigh-high club wearing a stunning silver and pink cut-out gown by KaufmanFranco. Iman worked her magic as she showed off her naturally beautiful features with her hair pulled back into a sleek, high ponytail complimented with a subtle smokey-eye look.
5. Ryan Gosling
Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling, always knows how to look on point. The Notebook star sported a white dinner jacket -- a classic, yet daring piece. His midnight blue trousers and bow-tie break from the usual black-tie, making his whole attire edgy and classy. So dapper, Mr. Gosling!
Now that the best have come to rest, let's have a look at the ones who failed to impress on the red carpet.

1. Kristen Stewart
Kristen looked like everything she shouldn't have at Cannes in this outfit. The pleated, Chanel skirt looks a tad too sleazy for the red carpet. She's managed to pull off eccentric looks in the past, but this one's clearly not working for her.
2. Elena Lenina
Russian reality TV star and author Elena Lenina went for a Lady Gaga inspired look, but ended up looking frightening. More is more for Lenina and this over accessorised look with her gravity-defying cone-head makes us question if this is experimental fashion or just an attempt at grabbing attention.
3. Mallika Sherawat
Clad in a Georgeshobeika dress, Mallika Sherawat walked the red carpet looking absolutely boring. Her figure-hugging gown left an unmemorable mark this year for the Murder actor. We're disappointed to say the least.
Aishwarya or Mallika: who wore it better?
4. Larisa Katz
Designer Larisa Katz has seemingly created some spectacular ram horns out of golden foil, and dress looks like it's made from pizza toppings. She 'Cannes' not pull this off.
5. Julianne Moore
Wearing Louis Vuitton head to toe, Moore chose a paper shredder for her red carpet outfit. This V-neck, sleeveless dress paired with Louis Vuitton Sandals is only accentuating her dress's raggedy hem. However, we do have our eyes on that Petite Malle Bag and Chopard jewelry.
Maybe you'll get it right next year, guys!
