Defective Product: Cell phone seller notified

A consumer court on Friday issued a notice to a proprietor in a suit seeking Rs300,000 in damages over the sale of a defective mobile phone. Petitioner Muhammad Mushtaq told the court that he had purchased a mobile phone from Anees Ali from his shop in Shahdara for Rs12,000.  He said a few days later, the mobile phone had stopped working.  He said he had taken it back to the shop but the shopkeeper had refused to replace it with a new one.
