'Gwadar port to become game changer'

The Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael said on Wednesday that the Gwadar port will soon acquire the position of a game changer in the regional economy and marine trade.
He expressed these views during his visit to Gwadar Free Zone, Port Bay Expressway and Gwadar Business Complex projects.

He said that Gwadar port would prove to be shipping hub due to its proximity with strait of Hormuz which would give a short access to western China, Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics (CARs).
Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Dostain Jamaldini briefing the minister said that 18.9km-long East Bay Way would be completed by 2018 at a cost of Rs14,016 million under CPEC project. This expressway would be used to move cargo shipment on the port.
