K-Electric (KE) may have upped its social media game but when it comes to supplying electricity, it still leaves a lot to be desired.

For the past week or so, the sun has turned its wrath upon Karachiites, and the situation is further compounded by the city’s only electricity supplying company’s unannounced load-shedding for long periods of time.

When approached, the only explanation KE seems to have is that there is a technical issue at hand.

KE has been of late bent upon polishing its image by posting maintenance shut-down announcements on Twitter and promoting football in one of the city's poorest neighbourhoods.







However, fed up with increasingly unannounced load-shedding, these tweets by Karachiites tell a different story altogether.

While a few complained about missing Imran Khan's speech in the National Assembly today as well as Shahid Afridi's interview thanks to power outages, others were more concerned about how they would watch cricket matches between Sri Lanka and England, staring tomorrow.

And this Twitter user resorted to the only weapon left to her against load-shedding: sarcasm
