Reckless driving: Seven dead, nine injured in road crash  

The van was coming from Lala Musa to Rawalpindi, with 21 passengers onboard

RAWALPINDI: At least seven passengers died and nine others sustained injuries in a road crash near the Missa Kaswal area in Gujar Khan on Monday morning, police and Rescue officials said. According to Rescue 1122 officials and the Gujar Khan police, the speeding van skidded off the road and rammed into a tree after one of its front tyres’ ruptured. The van was coming from Lala Musa to Rawalpindi, with 21 passengers onboard. The dead were identified as Mir Hassan, Luqman Riaz, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Naveed, Muqadas Khan, Rehmat Khan and Muhammad Hafeez. Umer, Muhammad Khalil, Waqas, Waleed, Wasim, Yasir, Munawar, Muhammad Sadiq and Faiz Rasool sustained multiple injuries.
