Unscheduled: Jirga raises voice against power cuts

A jirga was held to raise a voice against prolonged power outages at Shaheen Adda, Mamash Khel village in Bannu on Monday. The jirga was attended by elders of the community and village representatives. While addressing the participants, district councillors Jafar Shah, Malik Nazir Khan and Haji Sultan Ayaz said locals had been experiencing power outages for several months and the government has yet to resolve the issue. They said the residents were also facing a water shortage owing to unavailability of electricity. The councillors added business activities were also affected due to power breakdowns. Separately, traders of Mirali and Miranshah urged the government to compensate them for losses incurred during the military operation. The traders handed over a detailed report of losses incurred by residents to the political administration.
