MANSEHRA: The court of judicial magistrate sent five accused arrested on charges of raping a teenage boy on a one-day physical remand.

A criminal case was registered against Wajid, Sikandar, Saeed, Mehran and another Saeed. They were arrested on Sunday evening over the complaint of a 15-year-old in Battagram. His family was temporarily living with their relatives in Bajna village. The rape survivor told the police he was waiting for a van to take him to Bajna village from Shinkiari Suzuki terminal. Before leaving, he went to a public toilet. A group of men entered the toilet and gang-raped him.

On his complaint, the police registered an FIR under sections 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or for a shorter term) and 377 of Pakistan Penal Code. They were arrested and produced before the court of judicial magistrate Sohail Khan. The magistrate handed them over to the investigation staff for a day for interrogation.
