Kamal calls on DG Rangers, vows to play role for permanent peace in Karachi

Representatives of MQM and MQM-H also held separate meetings with the DG Rangers and discussed security situation

In an unprecedented move, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal called on Director General Pakistan Rangers, Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar on Saturday.

During the maiden meeting between the two, issues pertaining to missing persons and presence of agents of hostile intelligence agencies in different political parties came under discussion.

Kamal, former Karachi mayor, said his party is ready to play a positive role to bring lasting peace to Karachi and Sindh.

DG Rangers also lauded non-violent role of PSP in the politics.

According to a statement released by Rangers, representatives of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) were also invited to the Rangers headquarters where they held separate meetings with the DG Rangers.

All three parties have agreed that peace in the metropolis is the result of sacrifices made by the law enforcement agencies and maintaining the situation is the responsibility of all stakeholders, the communique added.
