Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Aushtar Ausaf Ali on Thursday strongly rejected the claim of the federal ombudsperson for protection against harassment of women at the workplace that he coerced her to tender an unconditional apology before the Lahore High Court in a contempt case. “It is a matter of great concern that Yasmeen Abbasi has attributed baseless action towards the head of a constitutional office,” the AGP office said in a statement. To support its stance, the AGP office attached Yasmeen’s handwritten apology to the statement. The office also clarified that Aushtar Ausaf intervened in the contempt case under Supreme Court instructions on March 2.
