Balochistan Assembly: CM Zehri warns speaker of no-confidence motion
Zehri said the speaker was favouring the opposition rather than treasury benches
QUETTA:
Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has warned Speaker Raheela Hameed Durani of no-confidence motion on Thursday over accepting Ramzan Relief Package resolution tabled by women parliamentarians during the assembly proceedings.
Zehri said the speaker was favouring the opposition rather than treasury benches. “You are forcing us to move a no-confidence motion because your decision could create differences among coalition partners,” CM Zehri told the speaker.

“We want to provide relief to the people of Balochistan but it should be first discussed with the chief secretary and the finance department,” CM Zehri said.
Shamma Ishaq, Sameena Khan, Sposhmai Achakzai, Ruqiya Hashmi and Masooma Hayat had tabled the resolution. “Women can better understand the needs of kitchen items during Ramzaan,” Shama Ishaq said.
Opposition boycott
The opposition parties boycotted Balochistan Assembly proceedings a third time, calling the treasury benches to step down following the recovery of more than Rs730 million from the residence of suspended Balochistan finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani.
NFC award dilly-dallying
The Leader of Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly Maulana Abdul Wassay has said that the biggest failure of the government is not calling the meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC) awards.
All Balochistan residents are patriotic, says Zehri
Talking to the media, Wasay said that the working at the finance division of the country has apparently come to a halt after the Panama leaks and the mega-corruption scandal of Khazana leak in Balochistan.
“The only problem of Balochistan is corruption…due to NFC awards Balochistan budget reached up to Rs245 billion but not a single development act is seen in the province,” he said.
