The National Highway Authority (NHA) is taking all possible measures to ensure timely completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “The CPEC project comprises modern highway and railway transportation system linking Kashgar in West China to Khunjerab in the north and onwards to Karachi and Gwadar in the south of Pakistan through multiple routes,” said an NHA official. He said that a number of sections of this mega project have been completed and remaining sections are under construction, adding that the segment from Khunjerab to Raikot had already been upgraded. The route from Raikot to Islamabad is divided into three sub sections, of which work on the Thakot secion had started after the groundbreaking by the prime minister recently.
