Muq rally : Arguments sought against Gullu Butt
The bench directed the counsel for both sides to submit their arguments and postponed the hearing
LAHORE:
A Lahore High Court division bench on Wednesday sought more arguments on the provincial government’s appeal for enhancement of a sentence awarded to Shahid Aziz alias Gullu Butt for damaging vehicles and cars parked in front of the Minhajul Quran (MuQ) Secretariat in Model Town in 2014. The bench directed the counsel for both sides to submit their arguments and postponed the hearing for an indefinite period. Earlier, the counsel for the appellant said that Gullu Butt had spread terror in the area by attacking passersby and damaging vehicles. He said the trial court had sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment. This was not enough, he added.
