Imtisal Zafar, creative director at Verve Event Management, gets personal with us and breaks down his style, from working out regularly to wearing well-tailored clothing — there’s plenty to take notes from!

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

It is now becoming muscular, since I have been working out regularly.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

I have oscillated between being slim and having baby-fat when I was younger. However, in the last couple of years, I’m working towards developing better muscle mass.

How has your style changed over the years?

I love my regular assortment of jeans, shorts and t-shirts for daily wear and statement jackets/blazers for going out. Lately, I am more inclined towards suits, blazers, skinny pants, and crisp shirts.

In your opinion, what is your most troublesome area?

Love handles!

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I have a nice chest so while dressing up, it helps to keep that in mind. I like wearing clothes that fit well on the chest, are looser around the love handles and then tapered down at the bottom for a sleek, perfect fit.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

Wearing something that does not fit properly. Two sizes too small or two sizes too big ruin the whole image.

What silhouettes suit your body the most?

I prefer tapered, fitted silhouettes — be it in suits, blazers, pants, jeans, or shirts — rather than loose, baggy pieces.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

Nothing really!
