Karachi operation: ‘Over 800 target killers arrested so far’ 

The Rangers spokesperson appealed to the people to inform them about any criminal activities

KARACHI:
Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, along with the police and other law enforcing agencies, claim to have apprehended over 800 target killers allegedly involved in over 7,000 cases of murders in Karachi in two-and-a-half-years.

According to a press statement issued by the Rangers spokesperson on Tuesday evening, the Rangers initiated operations against target killers as well as militant wings of different political, religious and banned outfits following the decision taken by the Supreme Court in the Karachi unrest case.


"The Rangers troops arrested 848 target killers since the beginning of the Karachi operation on September 5, 2013," the spokesperson claimed. "These target killers had killed 7,224 people in the metropolis." Later, these target killers were handed over to the police for further legal processing. The Rangers spokesperson appealed to the people to inform them about any criminal activities.
