GILGIT:
The leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party Gilgit-Baltistan chapter have asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz not to meddle into the upcoming by-elections for GBLA-6 Hunza

“If Nawaz and Maryam come to Gilgit for electioneering, they will be greeted with rotten eggs and tomatoes,” PPP G-B President Amjad Hussain said while addressing a press conference in Gilgit on Tuesday.

The party leadership accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of supporting dictatorial practices.  They said the decision to award a ticket to the G-B governor’s son, Salim Khan, was made because of the prime minister’s personal ties.

“Wazir Baig, our PPP candidate, is willing to serve the public,” former deputy speaker of G-B Assembly Jamil Ahmed said.

Baig had been given a party ticket by PPP for the Hunza by-elections scheduled on May 28.
