PESHAWAR: A suspected Congo virus patient, who arrived from neighbouring Afghanistan, passed away on Sunday. Khadija, 45, was brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) in critical condition and her symptoms suggested she had been infected by Congo virus. She was admitted and her blood samples were sent to National Institute of Health in Islamabad to be processed. However, she breathed her last on Sunday. If her case is confirmed, she will be the second patient admitted to the facility that died of the virus. The first victim was Zeeshan, 32, a resident of Bannu district. He was shifted to HMC on April 24 and died on the same day.
