The Da Shamlo Waraz festival was held to celebrate the evolution of the century-old Shamla culture. It took place at Bagh-e-Naran, Hayatabad on Monday and was organised by Tochi, a welfare organisation which aims to facilitate the war-affected Dawar tribe in North Waziristan. Enthusiastic Pukhtuns, especially those hailing from tribal areas, participated in large numbers wearing a shamla or pagree. An Attan (traditional dance) was also performed with the dull (drum beat) providing the music.
