NAB arrests Mushtaq Raisani's 'facilitator' in Karachi

KARACHI:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi arrested on Monday a government official, Sohail Majeed, for allegedly facilitating the crimes of Balochistan’s finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani.

Majeed was arrested from a posh area in Karachi and shifted to an undisclosed location. NAB Karachi confirmed the development.

Last week on Friday, NAB Balochistan rounded up Raisani and several other officials from Quetta Civil Secretariat over allegations of corruption.

Officials from the top accountability body also seized records from the provincial treasury's office to aid in the investigation of the alleged corrupt practices of the accused.

Following the arrest, a sessions court in Quetta sent Balochistan’s finance secretary on a 14-day physical remand in NAB's custody.
