Abducted Levies personnel released

A case has been registered against unidentified people and further investigations are under way

Four Balochistan Levies personnel, who were abducted in the Awaran area of Balochistan by suspected militants, were released on Sunday.


The personnel were kidnapped by armed men from Gishkor tehsil in Awaran district late Saturday night when they were patrolling in the area.

But on Sunday morning they were released near Awaran city.

“The kidnappers took their vehicle and four SMGs,” said a Balochistan Levies official.

According to the Levies, the freed personnel were identified as Hawaldar Sherjan, Abdul Malik, Sepoy Allah Baksh and Sepoy Saeed Ahmed.

A case has been registered against unidentified people and further investigations are under way.

While it is believed that local militants abducted the officials, no group took responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.
