Sister’s marriage : Boy attempts suicide in protest
The doctors informed that the boy had received 100% burns and there were minimal chances of his survival

A teenager attempted to commit suicide on Sunday to protest the reported marriage of his 14-year-old sister to a 45-year-old man at Bachal Shah Muhalla, Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki.

A teenager attempted to commit suicide on Sunday to protest the reported marriage of his 14-year-old sister to a 45-year-old man at Bachal Shah Muhalla, Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki.
The boy, S*, had gone out of town for a few days. On his return, he found out that his sister, identified as Heer, had been married off to much older Akhtiar Fakir for a sum of Rs100,000.
The boy become angry at his parent's decision and after a fight with his father, Sultan Fakir Khokhar, closed himself in a room, poured petrol and set fire to himself.
The family members and neighbours broke the door and S* was shifted to Civil hospital. The doctors informed that the boy had received 100% burns and there were minimal chances of his survival. A case has yet to be registered.
