Improving living standard: State institutions should be revamped, says CM
The CM announced a grant of Rs3.5 million for the district bar
HARIPUR:
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said state institutions need to be restructured to improve the standard of living of the public.
He ensured PTI was utilising its efforts to achieve the target. Khattak expressed these views while speaking to lawyers at the oath-taking ceremony of District Bar Association, Haripur on Saturday.
“During the last 70 years, the institutions were destroyed by rampant corruption, nepotism, gratification and political interference,” he said, “Unless institutions are revamped, the country will not be able to meet future challenges and the people will continue to struggle for their rights for another 100 years.” He added the PTI-led government introduced a series of changes in different sectors. “We have ended political interference from the revenue, police and education departments,” Khattak said. “The health department is currently being restructured.”
He added they have introduced new laws while another 100 legislations are in the pipeline to streamline these institutions. “The government is providing facilities in 15,000 schools,” he said. “A project to improve higher secondary schools is also being initiated with a cost of Rs8 billion.”
On the occasion, the CM announced a grant of Rs3.5 million for the district bar, while also gave approval for the construction of lawyers’ plaza in the new judicial complex in Haripur.
Earlier, Khattak inaugurated a new campus block worth Rs1.5 billion at University of Haripur. Similarly, he also inaugurated 25 kilometre-long Haripur Bypass.
