FAISALABAD:
Military personnel raided on Saturday a house in Faisalabad and rounded up five terrorists. The arrest comes less than a week after Army chief General Raheel Sharif had announced countrywide combing operations.

The force raided Berwala bungalow, some 20 kilometres from Faisalabad city. and took the suspects into custody after recovering arms from their possession.

Those arrested were then transferred to an unknown location for interrogation.

Later, acting on the information provided by the suspects, the military personnel continued operation in three different areas in search of the terrorists' accomplices.

On Monday, the army chief had approved a comprehensive plan to carry out combing operations aimed at preempting potential sleeper cells and hideouts of terrorists across the country.

Army chief announces successful completion of Shawal operation

On April 18, the military had announced successful conclusion of operation in North Waziristan's strategic Shawal valley.

The final phase of the operation was launched in February in Shawal and Datta Khel that had been used by terrorists for infiltration between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
