All set: Intermediate examinations from today

The annual intermediate examinations (Part-II), 2016, will start on Saturday (today).

A spokesperson for the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) said on Friday arrangements had been finalised for the examination.

He said that 621,854 candidates (285,188 men and 336,666 women) were registered for the examination. As many as 1,996 examination centres have been set up across the province.


As many as 491 examination centres have been set for 152,976 candidates in Lahore; 346 centres for 115,523 candidates in Gujranwala; 127 centres for 43,168 candidates in Bahawalpur; 121 centres for 35,687 candidates in Dera Ghazi Khan; 190 centres for 58,552 candidates in Multan; 136 centres for 37,794 candidates in Sargodha; 307 centres for 83,551 candidates in Faisalabad; 179 centres for 60,014 candidates of Rawalpindi and 99 centres for 34,579 candidates in Sahiwal.

The spokesperson said that 15,965 invigilators, 2,054 deputy superintendents, 1,996 superintendents, 924 mobile inspectors, 480 distributing inspectors and 1,834 resident inspectors would be on duty across the province.

Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen chief Muhammad Nasrullah Virk said any sluggishness on part of the staff concerned would not be tolerated during the examination.
