Scuffle: Two shot dead by levies official

SHABQADAR:

A levies official mistakenly shot dead two residents in Yaseen Kor, Haleemzai area of Mohmand Agency on Thursday.

The locals had reportedly tried to stop the construction of a road in the area. When the levies official went to have a word with them on the issue, a scuffle broke out. Subsequently, the official opened fire, killing Rahamdad Khan and his nephew Dildar Khan.

Later, locals took the official into their custody and handed him over to a jirga that forwarded the case to the political administration.

On the other hand, at least 17 persons, including two suspected terrorists, were arrested during a search operation by Sro Kali police near the Mohmand-Shabqadar border in Sro Kali and Speena Adera areas on Thursday morning.

This was said by an official of Sro Kali police, Wilayat Khan.

He told The Express Tribune they also seized four hand grenades and the same number of pistols. A large amount of hashish was also seized from their possession.
