HYDERABAD:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s zonal offices in Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas and other districts observed a day of mourning on Wednesday. The party’s local leaders and workers organised symbolic funeral prayers of Aftab Ahmed, the party worker who died in Rangers’ custody. In Hyderabad, a funeral prayer attended by hundreds of people was held on the grounds of Homested Hall.
The party also hoisted black flags in dozens of public squares and busy intersections and put up banners protesting against the law enforcement agency for allegedly killing Ahmed. They also called for releasing party workers who have allegedly been subjected to enforced disappearances.
