Aviation coaching: PIA opens 8th training centre

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) opened its 8th training centre that offers a two-year Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training Programme in Aerospace and Avionics Engineering. PIA Chief Operating Officer (COO) Bernd Hildenbrand inaugurated the centre on Tuesday. Speaking at the ceremony, he said that establishment of the centre in Multan would provide students, belonging to the region, a lifetime opportunity of making lucrative careers in aviation industry. The COO said that through the PIA Training Centre (PTC) the country will not only produce valuable manpower but will also earn foreign exchange. Hildenbrand said that PIA was planning to obtain EASA 147 approval for PTC, which will help its graduates have better job opportunities. He surveyed the campus and was briefed on the facilities.
