PESHAWAR:

A training course on emergency room trauma was held at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Tuesday. The session was aimed at guiding nurses on how to deal with emergency cases at health facilities in a suitable and effective manner.

The training course was arranged by International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with Khyber Medical University. It was attended by nurses from LRH and other military medical service centres.

At least 25 nurses, including 15 from LRH, attended the course. The course will conclude on May 5.

LRH BoG member Dr Amjad Faheem said the course will benefit nurses working in emergency departments at the hospital.

“This is an important training [course],” he said. “Nurses must concentrate and implement [what they learn] in their daily work.”

ICRC Communication Officer Yaseen Kamran said an memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed with LRH and ICRC. Under the agreement, ICRC will provide adequate training to LRH staff.
