RAWALPINDI:
A magistrate on Monday sent two persons to jail on judicial remand for allegedly kidnapping two students and videotaping them

after stripping them  naked.

Sadiqabad police had booked 16 persons including seven students of a private college for allegedly kidnapping two of their college mates, a girl and a boy, and forcing them to strip before a camera.

The victims* had told the police that on April 21, they went to Dubai Plaza on the 6th Road to fetch academic notes from a fellow students but Mukarram Abbasi, also a student of the same college, and others kidnapped them and took them to a flat on Data Ganj Bukhsh Road where they were tortured, stripped naked and videotaped.

Police had arrested two, Murad Khan and Arman Butt, while the rest obtained pre-arrest bails.

On Monday, police produced the two suspects before a magistrate and also informed the court that the two parties had agreed on a patch-up.

The judge, however, said the suspects could not be discharged unless the girl withdrew the case against them and sent them on 14-day judicial remand.

The suspects, however, filed post-arrest bail pleas which the court would hear today (Tuesday).

Advocate Raja Nazeer Ahmed, representing the complainants, said the girl would also record her statement before the court on Tuesday.

Victims had told the police that the reason for their kidnapping was a brawl between one of the victims and Mukarram Abbasi, the prime suspect.
