MULTAN:

The Multan Bench of Lahore High Court on Monday summoned Women’s University Vice Chancellor Shahida Husnain to appear before court on May 3 (today), regarding the appointment of a public relations officer at the varsity.

According to the petitioner, Muhammad Imran, a resident of Multan, had filed petition saying that he had applied for the position of a PRO but had been discriminated against and was not considered or called for an interview.

He said that a woman candidate that the university had selected for the post did not meet the appointment criteria.

The bench issued instructions to the varsity administration to hear Imran out and to submit a report in this regard on Feb 19 2016. The Women’s University administration had failed to submit the report in court.

Imran then moved a contempt of court petition against the VC.

The Court issued VC Shahida Husnain a notice to appear in court on May 3 to explain her position in this regard.
