Black Book: New edition contains profiles of 263 criminals

A total of Rs 121.7 million has been fixed as head money by the Punjab government.

LAHORE: The Punjab Police has printed and distributed the second edition of the Black Book-2010 that contains the particulars of 263 most wanted criminals.

A total of Rs 121.7 million has been fixed as head money by the Punjab government.

The criminals whose names are in the Black Book are involved in at least three cases of heinous crimes each that include abduction for ransom and dacoity with murder among others. The particulars printed include their photographs with names, fathers’ names, CNIC numbers, identification marks, last known addresses and details of cases they are allegedly involved in.

The first edition of the Black Book was published in November 2008. It contained the particulars of 338 criminals. Out of the 338, 146 were arrested by the Punjab Police and 56 were killed in shootouts. Copies have been distributed among the capital city police officers, regional police officers, city police officers, district police officers, sub divisional police officers and station house officers across the province.
