Smuggling abroad: Passenger held with heroin
Customs official Feroz Alam said the passenger denied having any contraband items

Officials of Pakistan Customs claimed on Monday to have foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics out of the country and arrested a Pakistani citizen. Customs staff intercepted passenger Raz Moner and recovered narcotics from him. He was travelling to Sri Lanka. Customs official Feroz Alam said the passenger denied having any contraband items, however, once his baggage, comprising three cartons and a hand bag was examined, 3.4kg of light brown heroin powder was found concealed in corrugated paper pasted with polythene material at the bottom of two cartons.
