PM launches National Health Programme for 76,000 families in Quetta
Under the National Health Programme 300,000 poor patients are likely to avail free of charge treatment
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated the National Health Programme in Balochistan.
According to a statement, the National Health Programme under which 300,000 poor patients are likely to avail free treatment, will initially be launched in Quetta, Loralai, Turbat and Lasbela districts.
"The programme has been launched to provide health facilities to people living below poverty line," PM Nawaz said during an address in Governor House Balochistan.

"As many as 76,000 families in Balochistan will receive their national health cards today," the premier said, adding through this programme, the poor can get treated for fatal diseases, without spending any money.
"We need to change the political culture in the country," he added. "We have to change the ongoing culture in which only the wealthy and powerful have privileges."
"Providing the nation with health facilities, education and employment is not a favour, it is each citizen's fundamental right."

The premier will also inaugurate various projects, including the gas supply project to Qila Abdullah and Enayatullah Karaiz, along with a project for gas supply to Mastung, Qalat and adjoining areas during his one-day visit.
He is also to inaugurate the construction of an underpass on Brewary Road at Golimar Chowk, Quetta.
Referring to development projects in the province, the prime minister said peace and stability are important for development and progress.
"The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be a gateweay to progress and development in Balcohistan," he added.
PM inaugurates Gwadar-Hoshab (M-8) portion of CPEC
These development projects, including the Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan electricity transmission line, aim to meet energy demands in the province, while generating employment opportunities.
He emphasised on the need to eliminate corruption from the country.
"There are no corruption charges on this government. There have only been rumours which we proved wrong by forming a commission," the premier said.
