KARACHI: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has named a four-member women’s team for the Fed Cup that starts next week in Bangkok. Pakistan number one Sara Mehboob along with Sara Mansoor, Saba Aziz and Ushna Sohail will take part in the tournament from January 31 to February 9 and leave for Thailand a day after the conclusion of the training camp.

“Participation in the Fed Cup will give confidence to the girls,” said PTF Secretary Mumtaz Yusuf.

Former Davis Cup captain Rasheed Malik will be the team’s coach while Nausheen Sohail will accompany the team as the non-playing captain.

“I’m confident they can do well in the tournament,” said Malik, who is optimistic of the team’s success.
