Inquiry: DSP suspended over farmhouse raid

A spokesperson for Laleka House said that the IGP had ordered DPO Shariq Kamal Siddique to apologise to Laleka

The IGP on Saturday suspended from service Fort Abbas Circle DSP Meharullah Daad for conducting a raid on the farm house of MNA Mian Alam Dad Laleka. Police had raided the farmhouse in Haroonabad, last week.


SHO Ahsanul Haq Cheema and ASI Arshad were suspended from service after the incident. Later, the IGP ordered an inquiry into the raid. After the conclusion of the inquiry, DSP Daad was also suspended. A spokesperson for Laleka House said that the IGP had ordered DPO Shariq Kamal Siddique to apologise to Laleka. “Siddique might be transferred to another district if he does not apologise,” he said. The Bahawalnagar police denied the report.
