KARACHI:

A judicial magistrate remanded on Thursday a suspected robber, Saman, into police custody for four days, after the investigator contended that her accomplices have yet to be traced.

The accused was caught two days ago by the people when she and her accomplices were trying to escape after allegedly looting a bus in Orangi. According to the police, the suspect resorted to aerial firing to disperse the crowd chasing her but the crowd chased her by throwing stones at her. She fell down and was caught.

The investigating officer of the case told District West magistrate Abdul Basit Kalhoro that the suspect was part of a robbers' gang and had been involved in a number of crimes and house robberies. An unlicensed pistol was also seized from her, he added.

The judge sent the suspect into police custody on four days physical remand. The case is registered at Mominabad police station.
