One piece three ways: FYSTY

We ask three fashionistas to put together an outfit using the same item from a designer’s collection

May 01, 2016

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. We ask three fashionistas to put together an outfit using the same item from a designer’s collection, according to their style and taste!

The main source of inspiration for this piece was to create a trendy, timeless look that also hints at individuality. The designer likes to create long-lasting, elegant styles out of sustainable fabrics. The look incorporates classic styles combined with quirky sayings, eco-friendly fabrics and femininity.

I enjoy experimenting with new cuts and trends, but I’d say my style is more or less classic. I went for a clean white-on-white look and styled this Fysty London tee with my Body Focus Museum organza wrap and skinny jeans from Top Shop. For shoes, I wore Gucci metal wedges and carried a Tom Ford Natalia clutch. To finish off the look, I accessorised it with my Cartier watch and diamond pearl earrings. I opted for minimal makeup, red lips for a pop of colour and natural hair. I would definitely wear this outfit to a brunch.

T-shirts are not the most popular piece of clothing at parties, in fact they are turned down as “too casual”. This mindset is exactly what I sought to change with my outfit. I paired my top with a flowy grey skirt with high slits, perfect for a party or get-together at night. My BCBG ear cuffs and silver Rodo clutch gave the outfit the oomph and sparkle it needed. Complete with French Connection heels, the look was casual, but chic and edgy. Coupled with loose curls and natural make-up, I’m all set to hit a party!

My style is very eclectic. I like to switch it up and do different looks, depending on my mood, the weather and occasion as well as any specific trend that inspires my current mood. For this look, I wanted to keep it simple yet trendy, so I paired the white top with a pair of Top Shop, black, knee-ripped jeans. I stuck to high street brands for the clothes and played up with accessories, so I wore a black choker, an orange Hermes bangle to match with the “Khaleesi” on top and a two-toned black and white Gianvito Rossi heels. To complete the look, I opted again for a two-toned, black and gold Chanel Boy bag that keeps the look edgy and glamorous. I would wear this attire to brunch and even to an evening affair when I’m in the mood to keep it young and easy.
