LAHORE:

The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has started training programmes for wagon and mini bus operators.

They are being trained by the Lahore Transport Company’s operations and enforcement departments under the supervision of Motor Mobile Patrolling Inspectors (MMPIs).

A training session was organised at the Railway Station Bus Depot on Tuesday.

The training will also focus on improving the attitude of private transport operators towards commuters, especially women, senior citizens and the handicapped. They will also be trained to appropriately stop vehicles at proper places (stops), observe traffic signals, run on designated routes and keep the necessary documents, including route permits and fitness certificates, with them.

An LTC official said he hoped the training would improve public transport culture in the city.
