Missing artiste: Mother petitions against troupe promoters
Petitioner says her daughter went with a cultural troupe to Dubai in April 2009 but never returned.

Promoters of a cultural troupe and police officials were issued notices by the Sindh High Court (SHC) in the case of a missing performer.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai, was hearing the petition filed by Shabnam, the mother of a missing artist, Marvi alias Maria.
The petitioner said that her daughter went with the troupe to Dubai in April 2009. She was supposed to come back after three months but never returned.
The home secretary, IGP and promoters, Pervez and Mehvish, were cited as respondents in the case. The petitioner asked the court to direct the police to investigate and interrogate the private respondents on her whereabouts.
The bench later ordered the issuance of pre-admission notices to the respondents for a date to be fixed later by the office of the court.
