‘Priyanka Chopra has consistently proved herself’
Shraddha Kapoor inspired by the actor, says she is her idol.
MUMBAI:
Speaking at the launch of a new song called Get Ready to Fight, from her upcoming film Baaghi, actor Shraddha Kapoor said that Priyanka Chopra is her idol and someone she has always looked up to from the start. Kapoor heaped praise over Bollywood’s desi girl, stating that she has consistently proved herself with her work — both locally and internationally.
“One person I really adore is Priyanka. I’ve always been a Priyanka Chopra fan. I feel that with the work she is doing, she has been proving herself consistently,” Kapoor said, in a statement. Chopra recently featured on Time Magazine’s list of ‘100 Most Influential People’ and also appeared on the cover, along with an elaborate piece penned by her Baywatch co-star Dwayne Johnson. Speaking of this achievement, Kapoor tweeted, “WOHOOOO! She’s Unstoppable!!!”
Among the male actors in the film industry, Kapoor’s inspiration has been her Baaghi co-star Tiger Shroff — someone she has grown up with. Shedding light on his action moves in Get Ready to Fight, Kapoor added, “When I saw the video, I almost fell off the sofa. I still can’t believe it!” According to her, Baaghi is the first Bollywood film wherein an actor has done this kind of action for a song. “It is a matter of great pride that there is an actor who has raised the level of action so high. It’s a very motivational song and I’m hoping people get inspired. I always get inspired when I see Tiger, every single time,” Kapoor added.
Priyanka invited to annual White House Correspondents' dinner
The Aashiqui 2 star will be doing a few action sequences in the upcoming film herself. “For Baaghi, I have done however much action I could do. And, I have done it in the minimum time that I got for training. But it definitely cannot be compared to Tiger’s stamina. It was very challenging,” Kapoor mentioned.
Nonetheless, the actor feels signing the film has been one of the best decisions she has ever made. “I felt very good that I got to explore something new for another film. I was very scared and uncertain about pulling it off but the director always believed in me.”
