Sikh MPA’s killing condemned
The NCJP functionaries said the state of human rights in Pakistan had become alarming

The National Commission of Justice and Peace (NCJP) on Saturday condemned the assassination of Special Adviser to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Sardar Soran Singh.
The commission—a rights organisation of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference—rapped the targeting of politicians from religious minorities. The commission expressed solidarity with the Sikh community on the loss of a visionary political representative.
In a joint statement, NCJP chairperson Joseph Arshad and national director Emmanuel Yousaf Mani said the targeted killing of political representatives was unacceptable. Our condolences and prayers for the family of the deceased, they said. The NCJP functionaries said the state of human rights in Pakistan had become alarming. They said religious minorities remained unsafe despite the directives of the judiciary and the introduction of the National Action Plan against terrorism.
