Silk road conference: Pakistan ideal investment destination

Faisal Tirmizi said Pakistan has a thriving middle class of 50 million people and a per capita income of nearly $5,000

CHICAGO:
Pakistan, at the crossroads of Asia, offers an ideal destination for investments with one of the world’s best returns on capital injection. It has a thriving middle class of 50 million people and a per capita income of nearly $5,000 in terms of purchasing power as well as a workforce aged below 30 years, said Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago Faisal Niaz Tirmizi. Speaking at the Silk Road Conference, he said Pakistan ensured equal opportunities for local and foreign investors in agriculture, energy, mining, gems, infrastructure, transport and communication, IT and telecom sectors. “Leading international publications, fund managers and rating agencies have acknowledged Pakistan’s outstanding economic turnaround,” he said and added that all these positive assessments present only a glimmer of what actually lies in store for Pakistan.
