KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Zahid Saeed has urged the Sindh and federal governments to allocate funds under a separate head of ‘industrial infrastructure’ in their budgets. In a statement on Thursday, he said that the Sindh government had assured its industry centric development projects, but there is no such noticeable improvement in infrastructure. He said that all of industrial areas in Karachi - including Korangi Industrial Area - are facing serious infrastructural problems. Moreover, water shortage has become a disaster for the industries. Saeed said that industries not only provide huge taxes to national exchequer, but they are also the largest employment provider after the agriculture sector.
