Targeted: General councillor shot dead
The assailants managed to flee the site
MARDAN:
A general councillor from Mardan and his friend were gunned down by unidentified men in Zando Dheri on Thursday morning. Khan Bahadar, 45, was going to his office along with his friend, Malik Zahid, in Zando Banda when unidentified men intercepted them and opened fire on their car in Zando Dheri. The assailants managed to flee the site while locals rushed Bahadur and Zahid to District Headquarters Hospital Mardan where they were pronounced dead. Their bodies were handed over to their family members. The police registered an FIR and have started investigation. On March 18, a general councillor was killed by unidentified men in Swabi and the culprit has yet to be taken to task.
