BBH gets 10 dialysis machines
The hospital was hard-pressed to cater to 5,000 to 6,000 kidney patients every year

The Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) has received 10 new dialysis machines along with a reverse osmosis plant at the cost of Rs30 million.
Metro Bus Project Committee Chairman Hanif Abbasi inaugurated the machines on Monday at the hospital. He said that projects worth Rs450 million were underway at the hospital including setting up new OPD and emergency wards. Abbasi said that the hospital would provide free of cost dialysis for patients as government was bent upon furnishing public hospitals with necessary equipment. He said the new urology hospital project would be completed by 2017.
The hospital was hard-pressed to cater to 5,000 to 6,000 kidney patients every year with only five dialysis machines. Due to shortage of machines, doctors at BBH had to use one machine to carry out three dialysis procedures in a day.
The Punjab government had approved 10 new machines for the hospital last year.
