The petitioner said that several acting NAB DGs had been appointed in violation of rules

Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued a notice to the Establishment Division secretary and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a petition challenging the appointment of acting regional directors general of the NAB. Justice Mirza was holding proceedings on a petition filed by Idrees Talib. The petitioner said that several acting NAB DGs had been appointed in violation of rules. “According to the relevant law, no acting DG can be appointed for more than six months,” he said. He said that several acting regional DGs had been serving for more than six months. He requested the court to issue directions to the Establishment Division secretary and the NAB DG to make permanent appointments.
