Human trafficking: Two proclaimed offender arrested

The Anti Human Trafficking Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency has arrested a fake lawyer from Rawalpindi.
Shazia Ijaz, the proclaimed offender, is said to be wanted in 15 human trafficking cases. She is said to be part of the FIA’s ‘red book’. Ijaz was arrested on Saturday from the premises of the Rawalpindi district courts.
The government had announced a reward of Rs1 million for her arrest, or for providing information leading to her arrest. According to the agency, Ijaz was involved in illegal human trafficking to Canada, Australia and Italy.
Separately, the FIA also arrested another human trafficker and proclaimed offender, Sayed Sadaqat Hussain, son of Mushtaq Hussain. He was wanted in numerous cases for six years. A resident of Dhok Ali Akbar, he was arrested from Rawalpindi.
The agency said Shah is considered a specialist in sending people to Saudi Arabia. The FIA said they were able to apprehend Hussain after his whereabouts where inferred by speaking to some of his former clients.
