PESHAWAR:
University of Engineering and Technology (UET) plans to implement an outcome-based engineering (OBE) system as per the guidelines of Pakistan Engineering Council.
OBE is an advanced model of education that focuses on achieving goals.
This was said by UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain while he was speaking at a workshop at the varsity on Friday. The workshop, titled ‘Effective Use of Information Technology for Quality of Higher Education’, was organised by the university’s quality enhancement cell.
UET Registrar Professor Dr Inayatullah Khan Babar, Treasurer Naik Muhammad, QEC Director Dr Sahar Noor and Sarhad University VC Dr Salimur Rehman attended. Hussain said, “Implementing the OBE system is a step towards fulfilling the Washington Accord. After it is implemented our graduates will be recognised all over the world.”
