Power theft: Eight apprehended in separate raids
All culprits were found involved in power theft through direct line and by broken security strip of the meter
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) apprehended eight more electricity thieves in the company’s regions in various raids during its ongoing drive against power pilferers.
He said, the drive was launched on the directives of CEO Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan. All culprits were found involved in power theft through direct line and by broken security strip of the meter, he added. He said FIRs have been lodged against power thieves under the new electricity (Amendment) Act. He said the IESCO was committed to taking action against power thieves.

The spokesman told APP that some three culprits were caught red handed from Islamabad Circle, three from Rawalpindi and one each from Rawalpindi and Chakwal Circles.
