Railways: Ministry asked to repair tracks

Senior officials of the Railways ministry briefed the committee about its performance and its attached departments.

ISLAMABAD: Senate Functional Committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Railways to rehabilitate and repair tracks in less developed areas of the country. The committee met at the Parliament House, chaired by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar. Advisor to Ministry of Railways Anjum Perwaiz was also present in the meeting. The committee directed the Railways official to retrieve the encroached land, adding that the committee would support any action in this regard. Kakar said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)’s western route railway link should be established on a priority basis as it will benefit the people of less developed areas. Earlier, senior officials of the Railways ministry briefed the committee about its performance and its attached departments.
