Enhancing Shelf Life: MoU inked for promoting fruit dryer
The dryer would be used for drying fruits, vegetables and fish in order to enhance shelf life of these products
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (Parc) and Capital Engineering Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the promotion of solar-cum-gas fired fruit dryer. According to the MoU, scientists of Parc’s Agricultural Engineering Division will design and develop a solar dryer prototype and provide technical assistance to Capital Engineering Corporation for manufacturing the dryer. After manufacturing, the scientists would test it on the field and upon successful performance, it would be recommended for commercialisation in the country. The dryer would be used for drying fruits, vegetables and fish in order to enhance shelf life of these products.
